Love Is In the Air
Author: Alexia Pineda
With the smell of chocolates and flowers all around, we get consumed by this holliday: Valentine’s Day. We take the day to spend time with significant others, loved ones, and family; reminding ourselves how important love is to this world. We tend to forget that one of the best people we can give love to is ourselves. You are your first and last friend on this planet — this holliday, give back to yourself.
Here are some ways to show self-love this Valentine’s Day:
-
WAKE UP EARLY
Enjoy the quietness of this world before you see flowers in everyone’s hands and kisses adorning every sidewalk.
Take an hour to yourself to be alive, breathe, and center yourself. No phones. No books. Sit outside and smell the fresh morning air. Have a cup of coffee. Journal your morning thoughts. Pray. Meditate. Stretch. Do yoga.
It’s important to dedicate some time for yourself, especially when life gets so busy and stressful. Shift your perspective on positive thoughts to enter into this day.
-
GO TO THE GYM
Now, it’s time to hit the gym. Put on the perfect outfit on, such as our Dark Puce Bike Shorts and Bra set for women or our Orange Vapor T-shirt for men! Have a hint of some Valentine’s Day colors ;)
Grab your headphones and get lost in your workout. Since Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday, I bet a lot of people are busy with plans. This is the perfect day to try new workouts, touch the machine you’ve been avoiding, and enjoy it. I bet no one will notice; they’re too busy looking at themselves. Play love songs, if you’re feeling crazy.
Move your body today, it needs love too.

EAT HEALTHY DESSERTS
It’s the perfect excuse to delve into some of those cravings. Because you worked out, I’m going to give you three easy, high protein desserts to help you meet your goals.
-
1. PROTEIN BROWNIES
Ingredients:
-Bananas, cocoa powder, almond butter, and protein powder.
-Preheat to 350 degrees.
-Blend all the ingredients into a blender, food processor, or by hand. Add some chocolate chips, you deserve it.
-Pour the ingredients into a lined pan and let it bake for 15-20 minutes.
-Let it cool. Then, get ready to eat!
It’s the perfect, gooey brownie with 12 grams of protein per brownie.
-
2. YOGURT CLUSTERS
Ingredients:
-Protein yogurt, fruit of your choice, chocolate, coconut oil.
-Line a plate with parchment paper. Grab a bowl and mix in your choice of fruit with any high-protein yogurt (I personally love strawberries and Oikos Vanilla Protein Yogurt). Take spoonful-sized clusters and line the tray. Freeze for 30 mins or more.
-Melt any chocolate chips with a dab of coconut oil, so it can melt properly.
-This next part has to be done quick: dip the frozen yogurt into the chocolate and coat it.
-Put it back in the freezer and let the chocolate cool for 10 mins.
Then you have the perfect bite-sized dessert!
-
3. THE CLASSIC: CHOCOLATE-COVERED STRAWBERRIES
Ingredients:
-Strawberries, chocolate, coconut oil.
-Line a plate with parchment paper.
-Melt any chocolate chips with a dab of coconut oil, so it can melt properly.
-This next part has to be done quick: dip the strawberries in the chocolate.
-Put it back in the freezer and let the chocolate cool for 10 mins.
It’s a classic!

GET COZY AND WATCH A MOVIE!
Okay. You’ve fed your mind, moved your body, and ate your sweet cravings. Now is the perfect time to put your corny, romcom cravings. Put on your favorite movie such as Legally Blonde, 50 First Dates, or Friends with Benefits.
It’s the time to sit back, relax, and have a good laugh. Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is do nothing. And that is okay. Life isn’t all about what you do, sometimes it’s about what you choose not to do. Relax and enjoy this beautiful day that we get to celebrate the people we love and the love we have for ourselves.
Happy Valentine’s Day from Lando to you. <3
